Registration
The first time you visit a forum, you will be a "Guest". Usually, in order to start a new topic, reply to a topic, vote in a poll or do pretty much anything, you will need to register.
Find a link similar to the one below:
After you've clicked the link, you'll usually be shown a user agreement which you will need to agree to before you can proceed:
You will then need to fill in your details:
You'll then receive a confirmation of registration:
Then, on most forums, you'll be sent an email to confirm your registration. Simply follow the instructions contained within the email:

On most forums/bulletin boards, there will be a link in the main menu. Usually this is something like "My Controls", "User CP" or "Profile". You'll need to click it:
Then you'll need to click the "Avatar" or "User Icon" link on the page that loads. If you can't find it, the administrators of the forum you are on may have disabled avatars - contact them for more information.
After that, enter the URL to your avatar in the box on the next page, and then click the "Update" or "Save" button:
After clicking save, it should tell you that it's been saved, and perhaps show you:
Forums Signature
Now we see how to make your signature show on some forums.
On most forums/bulletin boards, there will be a link in the main menu. Usually this is something like "My Controls", "User CP" or "Profile". You'll need to click it:
Then you'll need to click the "Signature" link on the page that loads. If you can't find it, the administrators of the forum you are on may have disabled signatures - contact them for more information.
After that, enter the BBCode in the box on the next page (go here to get your code), and then click the "Update" or "Save" button:
Problems
If the client doesn't seem to be updating your signature, try viewing the error log in the client (Right click the LS icon in the system tray and click Error Log). If that doesn't help, try viewing the server-side error log to see if your login was attempted, but failed, which would rule out connectivity problems. Do note however, only the last 50 entries are shown in the server-side log, so if you last ran the client an hour or two ago you probably won't see your login attempts in the log.
