About Me

Hippy says he's old at 26, I guess that makes me ancient at 30. I started life in California, moved to Texas 19 years later, and then Washington 11 years after that, where I currently still reside. I live with my girlfriend and our two dogs, which is just fine with me, because kids are scary and noisy and smell bad and stuff.

I am a network/security engineer by trade and schooling, and couldn't code my way out of a wet paper bag (though I do try my hand at PHP and mIRC scripting from time to time). I bought my first computer when I was 9 (woo 8086!) and have been hooked since. I ran a BBS (with 4 lines even) when they were cool and you needed to run 3rd party utilities to make use of your 1 MB of RAM.

Probably the only thing that makes me unique is that I'm a hard k0re computer geek that also likes to wrench on cars and race them. I've owned 25 vehicles in my life, including some motorcycles and ATVs, and despite nearly killing myself when I was 16 in a car wreck, I've never given up going fast.

G33k

I spend most of my time tinkering on the computer, refreshing the various forums I haunt every 38 seconds to see if anyone has replied (they usually haven't), and listening to music.

Part of maintaining my g33k image is being an active member of The Knights Who Say Ni! distributed computing team. Mostly I run BOINC projects on every computer I can get my hands on and Borg, but I also run Majestic-12 every now and then. I also recently signed up for WhatPulse and noticed there was no KWSN team, so I am now the proud founder of that team.

Professional

I am currently a very successful stay at home loser, but am on the job hunt once again because I won't be able to pay next months rent if I don't get off my a$$. I do, however, happen to have 5 years of experience with network engineering, firewalls, corporate anti-virus, 13 different platforms, and fixing every sort of whacked out configuration end users can imagine.

Beyond that I am a full time student, pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Network Management, minoring in Network Security. I'm such a hardk0re nerd that I've got a 3.99 GPA and have been on the Dean's List every semester. Thankfully I will be graduating in October 2007 so I can go make some cash.

I need to add links to a bunch of stuff, but I'm lazy, and it'll give me a reason to come back here soon.
